CLP Global Classroom An Educational Initiative by CLP
The EGL (Expert Guided Learning) with CLP Junior Volunteers program is an innovative initiative focused on improving core academic skills in rural Bangladesh. Through online lessons in English, Math, and Science, CLP volunteers teach students via a distance learning platform. The main goal is to enhance English language proficiency, helping students develop communication skills in a supportive environment.
Currently piloted at Uddipan Badar-Shamsu Biddya Niketon in Bagerhat, the program serves Class Six students with Sunday morning classes. Starting at 9 AM Bangladesh time (11 PM Saturday in New York), these interactive sessions build confidence and language fluency. Each class introduces new vocabulary, followed by a Q&A session where students practice in real-time with volunteers.
The program’s unique approach combines learning with fun, enabling students to engage directly with native English speakers. By bridging rural Bangladesh with international volunteers, the program promotes global collaboration while empowering students to improve their English skills for future success. As it grows, the aim is to expand access to more students.
